is remembering the legendary jazz singer Billie Holiday on her birthday today [April 7,1915]. She died at the age of 44 [July 17, 1959]. The songwriter who sang "Strange Fruit," "Easy Living," and "Lady Sings the Blues." She has been the recipient of numerous awards, including being a Grammy Award Hall of Fame inductee. Holiday died of cirrhosis of the liver in 1959. Gone Too Soon.
